I view these types of speeches - whether it's the president delivering the State of the Union, the governor giving a State of the State, or a local official talking about their county or city - as kind of a status report on how things are going. The iconic all-electric Maid of the Mist, which has been in continuous operation since 1885, sets sail on the 2024 season at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4. Tours will depart every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. The hours of operation will be extended throughout the summer.

Gerald A. "Gippster" Gipp, age 61, of Lewiston, died Feb. 25, 2024. Gerry was a son of the late Arthur and Joan Gipp. He lived his entire life in Lewiston, graduating from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1981. He went on to earn an AOS from Alfred State College in 1983.

Niagara County on Wednesday announced the launch of the Connect Niagara bus service, which replaces the former Niagara Rural Transportation service. Connect Niagara offers new routes and better connectivity, including free transfers to connecting routes and NFTA Metro buses. The new routes go into effect Monday, March 4.
