The Lewiston Business Group caught lightning in a bottle last year with its first "Sip. Shop. Eat! Lewiston Style." The event debuted on a Hallmark card-like winter day and, thanks to an array of special deals at stores and restaurants, drew large crowds (and even larger sales).

I try to mix in some new dishes along with the obligatory pizza and wings, and this year it's going to be homemade potato skins (which are much more cost-effective for folks on a budget.)

HS Hoops: Wolverines slide by Gayle-less Lancers

Tuesday night, the Lewiston-Porter Lancers faced the Niagara Falls Wolverines on the hardwood without their star sophomore Roddy Gayle. Gayle was on the bench for the Lancers' battle, as he nursed an injury. And while most people counted L-P out in his absence, the Lancers gave the Wolverines everything they had. Despite the efforts, the Wolverines prevailed, 71-67, behind big nights from Taylor Sanders and Bryce Smith.
