Castellani Art Museum hosts '20/20 Vision: Women Artists in Western New York'

The opening of "2020 Vision: Women Artists in Western NY" at the Castellani Art Museum will take place from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20. This free event on the Niagara University campus will be the first comprehensive regional art exhibition focused on all women artists living in Western New York's five counties.

Preparations are underway for the 2020 Northwest Jazz Festival, which will take place Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28 and 29, in the Village of Lewiston. To that end, the board of directors and Jazz Festival staff will hold a fundraiser, "A Taste of Jazz," from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at the Brickyard Brewing Company 436 Center St., Lewiston.
HS Hoops: Wolverines slide by Gayle-less Lancers

Tuesday night, the Lewiston-Porter Lancers faced the Niagara Falls Wolverines on the hardwood without their star sophomore Roddy Gayle. Gayle was on the bench for the Lancers' battle, as he nursed an injury. And while most people counted L-P out in his absence, the Lancers gave the Wolverines everything they had. Despite the efforts, the Wolverines prevailed, 71-67, behind big nights from Taylor Sanders and Bryce Smith.

New York State Assemblyman Angelo Morinello on Wednesday said he supports the Village of Lewiston's goal to lower the speed limit on Center Street to make the roadway more walkable.
