Mat Williamson from St. Catharine's, Ontario, won his third consecutive track championship in the Krown Undercoating Modifieds last Friday. Derek Wagner, from Middleport, earned his second-straight Hy-Tech Concrete DIRTcar Sportsman track championship. Ken Camidge, from Niagara Falls, won his first KiPo Motors Street Stock championship.

The Council for Older Adults in Niagara County is hosting a free event about "The Real Cost of Clutter" in partnership with Niagara County Fire Coordinator and Director of Emergency Services Johnathan Schultz speaking, Aly Luccari from Bright Organizing Solutions, and Eric Conrad from Junkluggers. This event will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Shawnee Volunteer Fire Co., 3747 Lockport Road, Sanborn.

The Kiwanis Club of Lewiston will present the 65th annual Niagara County Peach Festival the weekend of Sept. 7-10 at Academy Park on Center Street in Lewiston. The first Peach Festival was held in 1958 and, since then, Kiwanians have contributed more than $1.6 million in donations to area charities and organizations from event proceeds.

The Levesque Institute at Niagara University, as part of a coalition of diverse organizations committed to the revitalization of the City of Niagara Falls, has formed a Niagara Falls neighborhood evaluation committee. The committee's first project is a comprehensive data collection that will provide information for a future neighborhood assessment to evaluate housing market conditions in the midtown area of the City of Niagara Falls.

Attendees will be able to visit the Fashion Outlets to drop off their electronics from the convenience of their vehicle.

On Monday night, at approximately 10 p.m., a 38-year-old male from Niagara Falls was shot in the leg at a house in the 400 block of 19th Street. He was then taken to ECMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
Niagara County: Seaman announces murder conviction

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Antonio Carr, age 30, of Niagara Falls, was sentenced this morning to a term of 45 years to life in State Prison. Carr was convicted in May of this year of murder in the second degree and multiple weapons charges in the slaying of 57-year-old Tracy Greene at the victim's barbershop in Niagara Falls on Oct. 2, 2021.

They call it the "most entertaining two hours in Lewiston," and this year will feature the first time two former champion teams will face off in a battle of wits, skill and speed at "Lewiston Jeopardy." The event scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Brickyard Brewing Company. Not to be underestimated, two other teams with vast knowledge of Lewiston's culture and history will be looking to steal the crown from the former champs.
