In addition, the Town Board plans to offer a special recognition to Shirley Luther, who is now 97 years old.
According to Mary Cooke, corresponding secretary for the Grand Island Historical Society, “Shirley Luther will be honored by being made an Emeritus Member of the town’s Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) on Nov. 7, at the beginning of the regularly scheduled Town Board meeting, in the Sybil Kennedy Courtroom. Shirley has represented the Grand Island Historical Society on the HPAB since the board’s inception in 1998.”
