Tens of thousands of people have watched one or more shows at Artpark this summer. Few have had an opportunity to actually be in one – that was until Thursday night.

Plasticiens Volants’ “Pearl: Secrets of the Sea” made its U.S. debut at Artpark in Lewiston.

Inflatables took over the amphitheater and courtyard, as an epic battle ensued in pursuit of the pearl.

Patrons were on stage, of sorts, as the show took place in the sky, on the ground, and all around them. Costumed characters and inflatables weaved in and out of the crowd, as larger creatures took flight.

Heck, a sea serpent even ate some people. (You had to be there.)

A final skirmish involved said serpent, a multistory octopus, and a lobster.

“Pearl” was presented in between two sets of The Machine performing the music of Pink Floyd.

Following the show, Facebook was noticeably filled with photos and videos from people still in awe of what they witnessed.
