America has spoken and chosen "Something Blue" as its cake of choice for the upcoming Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The innovative culinary team at Betty Crocker designed four show-stopping royal wedding cakes for America to choose from, inspired by the British phrase "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." Thousands voted for their favorite design and lobbied on BettyCrocker.com and Betty Crocker's Facebook page for the cake that they felt best fit the new royal couple. After the votes were tallied, "Something Blue" was declared the winner.

"We love the modern look of the 'Something Blue' cake," said Cheryl Welch, director, Betty Crocker Kitchens and Food Content. "With Will and Kate bringing a fresh approach to both their wedding and the monarchy, we feel it couldn't be more fitting for this King and Queen in the making."

All four cake designs can be viewed online at www.BettyCrocker.com/RoyalWedding, along with a royal wedding viewing party planning guide featuring a downloadable party invitation and party-ready food ideas perfect for the April 29 wedding:

•British-With-A-Twist Ideas: Inspired by popular British dishes, Betty Crocker has created fun new ideas such as "Tea Sandwich Flats," "Union Jack Fruit Pizza," "Bangers and Mash Hand Pies," and a delicious sweet treat mash-up called "Frozen Foolish Royal Mess."

•Princess Party Ideas: Moms who will be watching the wedding with their little princesses can enjoy delicious and fun-to-make-together recipes such as Kate Middleton-inspired "Mini Princess Bride Cakes," "Engagement Ring Mini Cupcakes" and "Cereal Wedding Cake."

•Breakfast and Brunch Ideas: American viewers waking up early to watch the wedding broadcast live from London can snack on dishes like "Bacon and Egg Savory Cupcakes," "Palmiers" and pancake-inspired "Sweet Breakfast Trifle."

•Dessert and Drink Ideas: Those watching the wedding coverage after the workday is through can enjoy "Royal Blue Velvet Cake" (a twist on popular red velvet cake), "Mini Buckle Berry Pies" (inspired by Kate's hometown of Bucklebury) and "English Rose Jam Cake Stacks." They'll also be able to toast the happy couple with a "Hibiscus Royale Champagne Cocktail," "Blueberry Hard Lemonade," or sapphire engagement ring-inspired "Royal Blue Cocktail."

America can watch the live broadcast of the royal wedding beginning at 7 a.m. EST on April 29.

After the wedding, Betty Crocker will also share tips on how to make a cake inspired by the actual wedding cake that Prince William and Kate Middleton will enjoy with their guests.
