Lewiston-Porter High School senior Ava Wylke came up with the fundraiser idea, having first learned of this organization at Oishei Children's Hospital when her baby brother was in critical condition suffering from RSV. Ava started volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Buffalo, and realized she wanted to hold an event to help raise awareness and collect money to support this organization.

"I want to give back to an organization that gives so much,” she said.

The Ronald McDonald House hosts more than 500 individuals a year whose sick child is staying at a local hospital.

"The resources and services the Ronald McDonald House provides is top-notch,” Ava said. “They make sure that those family members staying there feel comfortable, and have a home away from home, while going through a difficult time. I am truly hoping to make an impact and give back to my community."
