Press Release

Fans of the soulful songwriter and artist Pryor Baird were treated to the long-awaited arrival of "You Are To Me," his first piece of new music as a solo artist on Black River (June 2). Music lovers will be able to experience the grit, masterful guitar playing, and sultry delivery of the song as Baird is set to perform throughout CMA Fest week, including the “CMA Spotlight Stage,” on Thursday, June 8, at 3 p.m. in the Music City Center's Fan Fair X.

Written by Nate Smith, Trannie Anderson and Jonathan Smith, "You Are To Me" was produced by Doug Johnson and Jonathan Smith.  Digitally available now, "You Are To Me" is now playing on top playlists, including Apple Music's ”New in Country” and Spotify's ”New Music Friday Country.”

Managed by Narvel Blackstock and Berkley Kriz at the iconic Starstruck Entertainment, the California native signed with Black River Entertainment as a solo artist in 2022. Before signing with Black River, Baird secured a coveted spot on “Team Blake” during season 14 of NBC's hit series “The Voice.” After the show, Baird continued to work hard at songwriting, performing, releasing new music, and pursuing his dream of a music career in Nashville, which landed him originally signing with Black River as part of a duo in 2020.

More About Pryor Baird

"Now is the time" is more than a mantra for Pryor Baird, whose first musical memory revolves around seeing his uncle playing the guitar when he was only a toddler. Paired with his personal philosophy that if you "Work Hard, Dream Big, and Be a Good Human," anything is possible if you go for it.

Nashville is a 10-year town, and this man has put in the time and worked hard. The grit and determination that sprouted during his first guitar lessons at age 5 led to years of practice, playing out, and honing Baird's skilled musicianship. That experience breaks through the darkness and smoothly lands in the ears of the listener as Baird's vocal soars out of the light piano intro and into a soulful confession of true love and admiration in "You Are to Me," his debut song as a solo artist on Black River.
