It was an early morning for the Niagara University softball team on Wednesday, as it departed from campus at approximately 3:30 a.m. and arrived at the Buffalo International Airport shortly thereafter. The team is prepared for a quick turnaround upon arrival in Honolulu, as it kicks off the first game of the Hawaii Spring Fling tournament on March 2 (8:30 p.m. ET vs St. Bonaventure). The Purple Eagles will play a total of six games during the Hawaii Spring Fling Tournament from March 2-6, and six games in the Rainbow Wahine Classic, which starts on March 9 and concludes March 14.

“This trip will set the tone for our season. If we come out strong during spring training, it will carry over into our season,” said Kaity McInall, a senior on the NU softball squad.

Riley Crum, a senior pitcher out of Youngstown, said the team's goal for the trip is to prepare for the upcoming season that starts at the end of the month.
