Signature fundraiser, set for May 18, will feature tastings, live music, chef demo and more

Press Release

Guests will experience an evening of bubbly drinks, delectable dishes and divine desserts at “Sweet Expectations,” to benefit FeedMore WNY.

Presented by Wegmans and James Desiderio Inc., the signature fundraiser for FeedMore WNY will be held from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at The Powerhouse by Rich Entertainment Group, located at 140 Lee St., Buffalo.

“Sweet Expectations” will offer a variety of food and drink tastings from premier local establishments, a four-hour full open bar, live music from XOXO Pop Band, as well as games, auctions and raffles. Executive chef Camille Le Caër (who was recently featured on Food Network’s “Chopped”) will lead a demonstration and prepare French cream puffs with a caramel glaze for guests to enjoy.

Tickets are $75 each for general admission or $125 each for VIP access, which includes a private lounge area and extra tasting items such as the “Create Your Own Doughnut Bar.” Tickets and more information can be found at www.feedmorewny.org/sweet-expectations.

Proceeds from “Sweet Expectations” will benefit FeedMore WNY as it continues to provide nutritious food and support to food insecure community members of all ages throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. Food insecurity continues to be a pervasive problem throughout Western New York, especially due to the rising costs of living and the end of many pandemic-era benefits. In the last six months of 2022, visits to FeedMore WNY’s partner food pantries increased by 22%, and the need continues to rise in 2023.

“FeedMore WNY exists to provide dignity, hope and a brighter future to our Western New York neighbors in need, but we cannot continue our mission without the support of the community,” said Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY. “We encourage everyone to attend ‘Sweet Expectations’ to enjoy an evening of food and festivities while supporting our neighbors in need.”
