EPIC (Every Person Influences Children) announced the upcoming "Storytime In Your Neighborhood" series, in collaboration with the Jericho Road Community Health Center. The series kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

"It is a new, first-ever opportunity for this neighborhood, and a way to bring families together that has not been tried before," said Heidi Romer, Director of Community Advancement at Jericho Road. "It's such an exciting opportunity to bring families of Broadway-Fillmore together to engage in learning and play in a unique way."

"Storytime In Your Neighborhood" will take place on the third Wednesday of every month on green space next to 1021 Broadway, at the intersection of Clark and Kent. Geared toward children ages 2-6, each month will feature a story read in both English and an additional language, featuring themes of diversity, empowerment and community. Families are welcome to join live on the green space, provided masks are worn and social distance is maintained, and they can also partake virtually via EPIC's YouTube channel.

"EPIC is so excited to be expanding our existing literacy program of ‘Storytime,’ in partnership with Jericho Road and the Broadway-Fillmore community," said Jamie Rackl, EPIC's director of family engagement and professional development. "With its focus on literacy, culture, families, health and wellness, we know families and kids will love this fun learning experience."

The program will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month, weather permitting. A full schedule can be found here.
