From the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office:
On Jan. 30, at approximately 11:27 a.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office communications center received a telephone call reporting a structure fire at 6452 Hatter Road in Newfane. The fire was reported to be in a detached garage/barn approximately 25 feet away from the house.
When responding patrol units arrived on scene, they were made aware that there were no people or animals in the garage. Fire personnel responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
The garage and all contents appeared to be a total loss; an estimate of the damage is undetermined at this time.
Niagara County Origin & Cause was on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
