After five years, “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” is returning to the Ghostlight Theatre. Organizers said it’s just in time for the holidays – and inspired by true events that occurred over a century ago.

The story follows two plots: That of young Virginia O'Hanlon, who asks the question, "Is there a Santa Claus?"; and the disillusioned newspaper reporter, Frank Church, who is tasked with answering Virginia. What results is one of the most memorable editorials in history, still quoted today.

This production stars 9-year-old Nora Borowiec as Virginia, Don Swartz as Frank Church, and Ben Torres as James O'Hanlon, Virginia's father; plus, a cast of 19 individuals who have been featured on stages all throughout Western New York. This show is directed by L. Don Swartz.

The family-friendly show runs from Thursday, Dec. 8, to Sunday, Dec. 18. Tickets are $19 for general admission, and $17 for veterans, students and seniors. They can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/ghostlight-theatre-christmas-show-2022-1315399; during box office hours (9 a.m. to noon Saturdays), or by calling 716-743-1614.
