Former Steelhead Irish Pub owner James J. Lewis passes

James J. Lewis of Lewiston passed away on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.

He was born in Buffalo on May 7, 1947, the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Dudzik) Lewis. He graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Kenmore and Parsons College in Iowa.

Lewis owned and operated the Steelhead Irish Pub in Lewiston for more than nine years. For the past five years, he owned the Cheers Wine and Liquor store on Grand Island.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cynthia M. (Thompson) Lewis; and his children: Drew Lewis, Tessa Lewis and Grace (Jacob) Nichter.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at St. Peter's R.C. Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston. The Rev. Cole Webster is officiating.

Arrangements were made through the Rhoney Funeral Home in Lewiston.
