Patrons wasted no time Saturday in getting out and exploring the Art Festival, with crowds forming and cars parked far down the side streets as early as 10:30 a.m. They arrived even earlier on Sunday.

Among the weekend’s highlights, internationally recognized 3-D chalk artist Anthony Cappetto created a special interactive mural on Center and Fifth streets. Adjacent to him, students from Lewiston-Porter and Niagara Falls high schools participated in the first-ever “Chalk Walk Invitational.”

Hennepin Park was transformed into an Iroquois market filled with contemporary Native American culture expressed through art, music, drumming and dance.

On Saturday, strolling stilt walkers and artists from Farm Arts Collective performed along Center Street. This was a partnership between the Lewiston Council on the Arts and Artpark & Company.
