Racing heats up at 'Big R'

Ransomville Speedway’s 2022 season is continuing to roll right into the month of August, as VanDeMark Chemicals and JAGG Electrical and Control will be presenting the racing program on Friday, Aug. 5. The racing program will feature a full card of Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman, KiPo Motors Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman.

2021 Krown Undercoating Modified champion Mat Williamson from St. Catharine’s, Ontario, enters the final month of the regular season with a 26-point lead over multitime divisional champion Ryan Susice. Thirteen-time track champion “Mr. Small Block” Pete Bicknell is just 32-points behind Williamson, and “CB3” Chad Brachmann is just 40 points out of the lead.

Three-time and reigning Investor’s Service Sportsman track champion Brett Senek, from Ransomville, has an 8-point lead over Derek Wagner and a 24-point lead over Scott Kerwin. Josh Pangrazio, from Oakfield, is enjoying his first full Ransomville season in the KiPo Motors Street Stocks. With six wins so far in 2022, Pangrazio has an 84-point lead over multitime track champion Pete Stefanski.

Niagara Falls driver Dave Dussault has an 18-point lead over “Mr. Peanut” Ryan Plante, and a 36-point edge over Cole Susice in the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks. The Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman title is up for grabs as Ridgeway, Ontario’s, Noah Mamo has a 4-point lead over Colby Adamczak.

Pit gates open at 5 p.m., with grandstands at 6 p.m., and racing getting underway at 7:15 p.m. General admission is $18 for adults, $15 for youth (aged 12-17) and seniors (60-plus), with kids aged 11 and under admitted free. Rules Released for Sept. 2 Demo Derby

The rules for the demolition derby on Friday, Sept. 2, presented by Youngstown’s Triple T Towing, are available. The demolition derby for this show will consist of 4- and 6-cylinder cars. Contact Tim at Triple T at 716-517-1482 for more information.

•Demolition derby rules:

√ Any 4- or 6-cylinder car (if car is AWD, must remove one driveshaft)

√ Doors can be welded, chained or wired

√ Trunk lids can be welded, chained or wired closed

√ No pre-bending of cars

√ Pre-run cars are allowed (no extra bending)

√ Cars must have original bumpers; no full-size bumpers allowed

√ Mandatory – bar or ratchet strap behind driver’s seat

√ Battery can be relocated on passenger front floor

√ Fuel tank can be moved inside vehicle, but must be covered

√ Battery and fuel tank must be secured; no movement

√ Donut spares are allowed

√ No studded tires allowed

√ No reinforcement of car

√ Driver door must be painted yellow with number only

√ Roof flags with car number only

The program will also feature season championship night for the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman, KiPo Motors Street Stocks, and the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman.
