The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development New York Regional Office, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Homeownership Center, and the Office of Housing Counseling, will host a webinar in celebration of National Homeownership Month. The program will provide information on HUD housing counseling, and HUD FHA resources for homebuyers, homeowners, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations. Participants will hear from HUD staff and learn about tools and resources for homeownership. The webinar is being held via Microsoft Teams.

HUD New York Regional Office Senior Management Analyst Earleene Sealy organizes this yearly event to provide information and tools to assist homebuyers and homeowners.

A press release stated, “Every person deserves the chance to live each day with security, dignity and hope. A place to call their own. HUD will do everything we can to help advance affordable homeownership in our nation – this month, and every month ahead.

The webinar “Steps to Buying and Keeping Your Home” will take place from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, June 28.  Click here to join the meeting; or call in (audio only) at +1 347-921-5612,273336879#. The phone conference ID is 273 336 879#.

The press release added, “By presidential proclamation, June is designated as National Homeownership Month. HUD’s Office of Housing is commemorating the month and remains committed to breaking down barriers and racial inequities to homeownership, particularly in communities of color as well as other underserved communities. In support of this effort, single family and housing counseling will host a number of events that focus on new homebuyers and sustainable solutions for struggling homeowners.

“This year’s Homeownership Month celebrates the 20th year of this opportunity to amplify the benefits of homeownership and the work that remains to achieve fairness and equity in access to affordable homeownership for all Americans who seek it. HUD’s Office of Housing and Federal Housing Administration play a vital role for the nation’s homebuyers, homeowners, renters, and communities through their nationally administered programs.”
