Organizers of the Buffalo Irish Festival have launched a unique fundraiser to raise much-needed capital for the 2022 event, taking place July 29-31 at Buffalo’s Outer Harbor. Donors can purchase a personalized stone in the Buffalo Irish Festival “Heritage Wall,” what organizers call “a timeless display that will be on view at the event for years to come.”

For a $400 donation, individuals and families can personalize a stone with a 25-character limit. Produced by John Kennedy of Kennedy Sign & Design, stones will be painted on 4-by-8 sheets of 3-mm aluminum composite panels that are weatherproof, rot- and warp-proof. The stones will form a standing wall surrounding a designed “Celtic Tree of Life.”

This opportunity is exclusively for individual donors or families; businesses and organizations will not be accepted. Stones must be purchased by June 26 for the 2022 festival. Order forms are available by emailing [email protected].

The Buffalo Irish Festival will celebrate the best of Irish culture, music, dance and history. The not-for-profit festival is under new management, now operated by the Buffalo Irish Center and the Irish Cultural and Folk-Art Association of WNY. The event is run by volunteers who are committed to promoting Irish heritage throughout Western New York.

Two entertainment stages will feature both national and local Irish musical acts, including DESIRE – International U2 Tribute (Saturday performance only), The Byrne Brothers, The Spain Brothers, Steel City Rovers, Enda Reilly, John Doyle, Cathie Ryan, Mick McAuley, McCarthyizm, and Crikwater. Food, drinks, vendors, Gaelic football demonstrations, and a wide range of activities in the cultural and kids tents are planned.

Admission tickets will go on sale soon. Visit www.buffaloirishfestival.com/ for the latest announcements, or follow the festival on Facebook at @BuffaloIrishFestival or on Instagram at @festivalbuffaloirish.
