The Kenmore Lions Club is hosting its Lion Donald A. Kossuth P. E. Scholarship competition, which is open to high school seniors residing in Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda. The student may attend any high school. This year’s scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000. It will be given for the next four years.

The requirements are:

√ A letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor at his or her school.

√ Submission of an essay of 500-1,000 words titled “My Appreciation for the Teaching Profession.”

Letters and essays must be received by the Kenmore Lions Club at P. O. Box 663, Kenmore, NY 14217, no later than April 15. The scholarship checks will be presented in early August.

For 30 years, the scholarships have been funded by donations to the Kenmore Lions Club Memorial Fund.
