Cases Peaking?

On Tuesday evening, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz tweeted, “Our @ECDOH has confirmed 2,534 new COVID-19 cases for yesterday. While this total is high, it MAY be indicative of cases peaking in the county because (1) it was the first Monday since Dec. 13 to have less cases than the immediately preceding Friday (3,779 on 1/7/22) and week-to-week Monday growth was only 3%, the lowest weekly growth in more than a month. Prior Mondays saw 45% (1/3/22), 55% (12/27/21) and 28% (12/20/21) growth of cases from the prior Monday. We will continue to monitor the situation and report to the public.”
