The Buffalo Sabres will partner with Wegmans and Audacy for a Thanksgiving turkey drive on Thursday, Nov. 18, to benefit the Buffalo City Mission and FeedMore WNY.

The turkey drive will take place from 7-9 a.m. in the following locations:

√ KeyBank Center surface lot (enter lot from Baltimore Street, via Perry Street)

√ Wegmans in Amherst (675 Alberta Drive, Amherst)

√ Wegmans in West Seneca (370 Orchard Park Road)

The annual turkey drive returns this season after being postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

FeedMore WNY President and CEO Tara A. Ellis said, “The ‘Turkeys for Tickets’ drive is a crucial event for FeedMore WNY as we work to provide food insecure families with nourishing meals during the holidays. Currently, 1 in 8 people in FeedMore WNY’s four-county service area may struggle with hunger. For many of these neighbors, sitting down to a plentiful meal during the holidays is not always a given. We are deeply grateful to the Buffalo Sabres, Wegmans and Audacy for continuing to make ‘Turkeys for Tickets’ possible, and we encourage community members to stop by one of these three convenient locations to donate turkeys for local families in need.”

For every 20-pound turkey dropped off, or the equivalent of a 20-pound turkey, the Sabres will give the donor one voucher, good for two tickets to an upcoming Sabres home game. Vouchers will be distributed immediately by volunteers at the drop-off sites. Donors will also receive a Sabres- and Wegmans-branded Thanksgiving placemat, while supplies last.

A maximum of one voucher, which is good for two tickets, will be allotted per person. Fans can redeem their vouchers for select Sabres home games online using a promo code. Participants will have the option to purchase additional seats at the time of redemption.

The following games will have tickets available to be redeemed:

√ Monday, Nov. 22, vs. Columbus

√ Monday, Nov. 29, vs. Seattle

√ Tuesday, Dec. 7, vs. Anaheim

√ Friday, Dec. 10, vs. New York Rangers

√ Monday, Dec. 20, vs. Columbus

√ Wednesday, Dec. 22, vs. Colorado

√ Monday, Dec. 27, vs. New York Islanders

√ Wednesday, Dec. 29, vs. New Jersey

√ Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, vs. San Jose

√ Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 vs. Dallas

“This year brings a new set of challenges for many, but thanks to the Buffalo Sabres and their fans, many families will be able to come together to share a Thanksgiving meal. Wegmans is proud to partner with the Buffalo Sabres to support both FeedMore WNY and the Buffalo City Mission once again this season,” said Michele Mehaffy, Wegmans manager of Buffalo consumer affairs.

All of the donated turkeys will directly benefit the Buffalo City Mission and FeedMore WNY.

"The Buffalo City Mission is honored to once again work with the Buffalo Sabres to help feed our neighbors in need," said Aubrey Calhoun, associate executive director of the Buffalo City Mission. "This year, our annual turkey drive is collecting 1,500 turkeys for Thanksgiving Day, where our staff and volunteers will deliver more than 5,300 hot meals to the poor and homeless throughout Western New York. We are at our best when the community comes together, and we are proud to partner with such inspiring organizations to help lift up lives and address this critical need.”
