The Fairgrounds Festival of Lights will add holiday spirit with the return of the drive-thru this year. It is also looking to highlight the creativity and imagination of friends and neighbors in the south towns. The inaugural “City of Lights” home decorating competition will showcase families that go above and beyond decorating the exterior of their homes.

Locations of the homes entered will be placed on a map for families to take a leisurely drive to see and judge. In a partnership with National Grid, organizers encourage the use of energy-efficient lighting to decorate.

“This will provide for an even more festive night for families as they visit the Fairgrounds Festival of Lights and the decorated homes in the south towns,” CEO Jessica Underberg said.

To enter, visit www.FairgroundsHoliday.com and tap on the “City of Lights Competition.” All participants will be judged via online entries. The top three will be awarded prizes.

“For so many families, decorating their homes is a great way to get into the spirit of the holiday season, and the home decorating competition is sure to make the Erie County Fairgrounds a fun place to be throughout December,” National Grid Regional Director Ken Kujawa said. “As a company that strives to connect with and make a difference in the communities we serve, National Grid is proud to sponsor this event.”

The Fairgrounds Festival of Lights drive-thru will be open from 5-9 p.m. nightly in December (except Dec. 24-25). Admission can be purchased at www.FairgroundsHoliday.com.

New this year, guests must select the night they would like to visit when buying the ticket online. There will be a limited number of tickets available each night. Admission is $20 per vehicle (plus fees). Tickets must be purchased in advance (they will not be sold at the gate). It is recommended to add tickets to a digital wallet for easier entrance to the festival.

New in 2021, Tops Friendly Markets is offering exclusive discount offers to use in store (for a limited time) for a variety of products for families with the purchase of an admission.

The Fairgrounds Festival of Lights is produced by the Erie County Agricultural Society. For more information, visit www.FairgroundsHoliday.com.
