Members of O. Leo Curtiss American Legion Post 830 teamed up with Youngstown VFW Lake Ontario Post 313 and First District Niagara County Legislator Irene Myers to present their annual Chiavetta’s Veterans Day chicken barbecue dinner.
Held at American Legion Post 830 in Ransomville, the affair featured 700 dinners served, a basket raffle and a 50/50 raffle.
“Thank you to everyone who donated, attended, helped and supported the Town of Porter Veteran’s Day chicken barbecue – another sellout!” Myers said. “This event helps our vet’s post tremendously. A special thank you to Ki-Po Chevrolet, the Ransomville Volunteer Ladies Auxiliary, Johnston’s Restaurant, Knead the Dough and Paul Wendt’s Propane for your continuing support.
And to all our veterans and the veteran’s Ladies Auxiliary – we couldn’t do any of this without your help. God bless America and those who support it – and those who salute and do no kneel for our flag!”
Post 330 Cmdr. Rich Newman said, “Thank you, Irene, for your unbounded energy and devotion to this cause. Your original idea has blossomed into a beautiful and rewarding function that greatly benefits these veterans service agencies in the Town of Porter. Looking forward to next year when we do it again.”
