Veterans Day ceremony set

The Grand Island Recreation Department announced a Veterans Day ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Veterans Park Memorial Wall, 1717 Bedell Road.

A press release noted, “The Town of Grand Island cordially invites veterans, family members and friends to attend the Veterans Day ceremony.”

Participants and guests are required to follow all COVID-19 mandates that are in effect on the day of the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, there will be a reception open to the public at the Charles N. DeGlopper Post 9249, located at 2121 Grand Island Blvd.

The Charles N. DeGlopper Post has organized a “STOP 22” walk that will start at the conclusion of the ceremony. It will take place in Veterans Park. “STOP 22” is an initiative that supports veteran suicide awareness. Participants are reminded to dress for the weather.
