Local PRSA chapter honors outstanding work and professionals

PRSA Buffalo Niagara’s Excalibur Awards returns after two-year hiatus

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Buffalo Niagara Chapter celebrated the return of its annual Excalibur Awards Program, which honors outstanding public relations campaigns and tactics throughout Western New York. The organization bestowed 43 Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards and additionally honored work on behalf of Rich Products and the University at Buffalo School of Management as this year’s platinum winners.

The 31st annual Excalibur Awards took place outdoors at The Grove at Banchetti by Rizzo’s with more than 100 professionals in attendance. This year’s event honored outstanding work from a two-year period, due to the cancellation of a planned 2020 event amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Judging of award entrees occurred earlier this summer by professionals from PRSA’s Dallas chapter.

At every Excalibur Awards event, PRSA Buffalo Niagara Chapter recognizes two platinum winners representing the very best in campaigns and tactics. John Jiloty of The Martin Group received the honor for social media campaign work on behalf of Rich Products. Kevin Manne, APR, received the honor for a published article titled, “School’s in for Summer,” of behalf of the University at Buffalo School of Management.

PRSA Buffalo Niagara Chapter also recognized outstanding professionals during the 31st annual Excalibur Awards. Erin Collins, APR, marketing manager at PCB Piezotronics, received the chapter’s highest honor, the May C. Randazzo Outstanding Practitioner Award. Patti Stephen, executive director at Buffalo Prep, received the chapter’s Outstanding Executive Award. Lisa Eikenburg, APR, associate director of marketing and communications at SUNY Fredonia, received the chapter’s Distinguished Service Award. Cassandra Kubiak, director of enrollment marketing at Niagara University, received the chapter’s Ann R. Carden Rising Star Award.
