Calling all New York chalk artists: Enter 2021 Chalk YOUR Walk Competition

Cash prizes to be awarded

The Lewiston Council on the Arts is once again taking the Chalk YOUR Walk Competition online. 

Organizers said, “This year, we’re opening up the competition to anyone in New York state, and you can compete from the comfort of your driveway, parking lot, path or park! This year's theme is ‘Imagine, Explore & Create!’ Nature, music, animals, hobbies, books, sports … anything can be the inspiration for your mural.”

Participants can take a picture of their artwork and then email it with the artist(s) name, age, ZIP code and a short artist statement about their inspiration to [email protected] by Aug. 1.

Judges will select the Best of Show winner ($500 prize). All submissions will be posted on the LCA Facebook page, with the People’s Choice Award ($250 prize) determined by online voting.

At 4 p.m. Aug. 14, the LCA will announce the winners at the Lewiston Art Festival and on Facebook.
