The Breast Cancer Network of WNY (BCN), supported by funding from Windsong Cares Foundation, will present a virtual Lymphedema Education Program on Tuesday, May 25. The guest speaker for the program will be Dr. Donna Gulick of OrthoSports Physical Therapy – recognized as one of the area’s leading experts in lymphedema therapy and treatment.

Lymphedema is the buildup of lymph fluid in a body's tissues that can happen when lymph nodes are removed or damaged. It effects millions of Americans, many of which are breast cancer survivors.

“Breast Cancer Network focuses on presenting breast cancer educational programs, and lymphedema certainly fits under that umbrella,” Executive Director Rob Jones said. “It’s important for us to get information into the community and, with the funding we received from Windsong Cares Foundation, we have been able to offer this program virtually in an effort to meet the needs of a very underserved area in Western New York.”

The program is free and will be presented virtually via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. For more information and program registration, visit www.bcnwny.org or call 716-572-1960.
