Hippity, hoppity Easter’s on its way!

Sure, it might look a little different again this year, but there’s certainly no shortage of safe and fun Easter activities to be found in Niagara County. From good ol’ egg hunting to Easter Bunny meet-and-greets, there are plenty of reasons for families to be egg-cited this year.

The following activities are all scheduled for Saturday, April 3:

NT Parks Department Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The North Tonawanda Parks Department is holding its annual Easter egg hunt at two locations with safety measures in place for kids 10 and under. The event includes: Hundreds of prestuffed colored eggs scattered around the park for kids to find and keep; hidden golden eggs, which can be turned in for larger prizes (limit one per child); a visit by the Easter Bunny; and various Easter-themed activities.

The event is open to NT residents. Preregistration is required at www.ntparksrec.com/info/activities/program_details.aspx?ProgramID=30016&fbclid=IwAR0QJIzw9ale3vpueUs3C1nrZxyMN-sL4210VjKuGQ6AIA06z_qB6SchywE.

Due to limited space, the event will take place in two locations with designated time slots:

√ Location 1: Pinewoods Park (1 Pinewoods Drive); location 2 Raymond Klimek Veterans Park (700 River Road).

√ Session 1: (8:30 a.m. check-in) 9-11 a.m.; session 2: (noon check-in) 12:30-2:30 p.m.

All participants must wear face coverings while participating in the event. The day prior to the event, registered families must complete an online COVID-19 screening form (will be emailed). Attendees cannot enter the park prior to their assigned check in time.

Youngstown Lions Drive-Thru Easter Egg Event

The Youngstown Lions Club will hold its annual Easter egg event at Fort Niagara State Park in the parking lot near the swimming pool area. The event will run 11 a.m. to noon (or when all the bags of candy are distributed.) Children between the ages of 1 and 10 are welcomed to participate.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event will be managed differently from prior years. Drivers and passengers will be required to stay in their vehicles. The Easter Bunny and Lion, along with members of the Youngstown Lions Club, will distribute bags of candy to the children.

For more information, contact Lion Debbie Fleck at 716-870-1109.

NT: Easter Bunny at Imagination Station

From noon-2 p.m., Alderman Robert Pecoraro and the North Tonawanda Neighborhood Watch are hosting a visit with the Easter Bunny at the Imagination Station, 439 Deerfield Drive. Families are encouraged to bring and donate items for the Little Free Pantries.

In addition, families will have a chance to win some great Easter prizes.

The latest COVID–19 guidelines will be followed.

Meet Easter Bunny in Lewiston

From noon-2 p.m., the Village of Lewiston Recreation Department is offering a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny in Marilyn Toohey Park, outside the Red Brick Municipal Building, at 145 N. Fourth St. Children can have their photo taken and get a take-home bunny-themed craft and treats. Families are asked to bring their own camera or phone to take pictures.

The event is free, but requires preregistration at https://tinyurl.com/LewistonBunny.

In case of weather, the event will move inside the gymnasium.

All attendees must wear a mask and social distance, as required by state law.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Free Community Outdoor Easter Egg Hunt

Each child can collect three eggs and receive a prize.
