Center for Elder Law & Justice to host 25th annual golf tournament

The Center for Elder Law and Justice (CELJ) will host its 25th annual golf tournament on June 28 at Wanakah Country Club, presented by KeyBank. Sponsors and players are invited to register online at www.elderjusticeny.org/golf-2021.

Social distancing and sanitizing will be in place to ensure a safe experience for all. Those who wish to participate but are not golfers may purchase raffle tickets, or dinners to-go.

A press release stated, “This year’s plans include the use of GolfStatus.com, a user-friendly app that provides all of the features that golfers need on the course, including free GPS, tracking of rounds, detailed stats at every hole, and more.”

All proceeds from the event support the mission of the Center for Elder Law & Justice to provide free civil legal services to older adults, people with disabilities, or low-income individuals in Western New York.

CELJ partners with KeyBank and People Inc. on the WNY Coalition Pooled Trust. This tool allows individuals with disabling conditions to access more of their income, enhancing their overall quality of life.

CELJ is a nonprofit civil legal services agency located in downtown Buffalo, providing legal services to eight Western New York counties and the Seneca Nation. It has satellite offices in Niagara and Chautauqua counties, as well as a medical-legal partnership at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo General Medical Center and the Lighthouse Free Medical Clinic.

Since 1978, its team of lawyers, paralegals, and social workers has provided comprehensive free legal services to the community’s seniors, individuals with disabilities, and financially eligible population. Members serve as guardians for court-appointed older adults and people with disabilities, most of whom experienced abuse in the past.
