The director of pharmacy services at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has been appointed to a five-year term as a member of the State Board for Pharmacy.

Michelle Lewis, Pharm.D., MHA, BCACP, was appointed by the New York State Education Department’s Office of the Professions.

Members of state boards are voted on by the state Board of Regents. Pharmacy board members advise on licensing requirements, licensing examinations and practice issues, provide community outreach, and participate in disciplinary, license restoration and moral character proceedings.

A clinical pharmacist at Memorial since 2005, Lewis was promoted to her current position in 2013. She is a clinical professor at D’Youville College’s School of Pharmacy and serves as a preceptor for Memorial’s nationally accredited pharmacy residency program.
