Every day, nearly 1 million people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) in the United States do whatever it takes to move their lives forward despite the challenges. By sharing their stories and raising awareness, we help people better understand life with MS and become inspired to do whatever it takes to change the world for people living with MS.

Explore powerful stories of people with MS. More information: www.nationalmssociety.org.

Detailed below are several events happening to raise awareness and raise funds for the cause in WNY.

√ Thanks to the Buffalo Landmark Illumination Team (LIT), Buffalo City Hall will be illuminated orange on March 1 and 7.

√ Over the next few weeks, several individuals living with MS will be conducting local virtual lobby visits with some of our WNY New York state senators and Assembly members to discuss issues important to people and their families living with MS such as opposing cuts to Medicaid, specifically reject the 2% global cap, and supporting pharmacy benefit licensure in the one-house budget bill.

√ Thanks to the Niagara Falls Illumination Board, Niagara Falls will be illuminated orange on March 19 for 15 minutes starting at 9:45 p.m. Anyone can view the illumination via this cam link https://www.cliftonhill.com/niagara-falls/livecam.

√ Finally, thanks to Sally Gower of Eat Well Buffalo, we are offering a virtual healthy cooking class to benefit the MS Society on Saturday, March 20, from 4-5:15 p.m. Sally will provide cooking instruction and tips to make: avocado hummus, lemony lentil orzo stew, arugula/parmesan salad, and, for dessert chocolate bark with fruit, nuts and seeds. Suggested donation is $20. After the donation is received, the recipes and the Zoom link will be emailed.

We will record the class so you can watch at a later date if you can't join live. Donate via PayPal or mail a check payable to the National MS Society to Denise Jarosch at 210 Winston Road, Buffalo, NY 14216.

For more information, contact Jarosch at [email protected] or 716-253-7066.
