EPIC-Every Person Influences Children has been awarded $10,000 from the Rite Aid Foundation, in recognition for its efforts throughout the year to improve the health and wellness of families across New York and beyond.

"Now more than ever, during a generation-defining pandemic, the health and wellness of our communities stands at the forefront," said Matt DeCamara, executive director of the Rite Aid Foundation. "We have an extraordinary opportunity and responsibility to drive leadership and progress that impacts the health and wellness of everyone in our local communities and neighborhoods."

"We are so grateful to the Rite Aid Foundation for this additional funding," said Tara N. Burgess, EPIC's executive director. "As we enter the holiday season, families need support now more than ever before. This grant allows EPIC to continue their work on projects like the parent support line and virtual classes in parenting, family engagement and youth services."

Together, these grants will total $4.8 million to local and vital organizations and missions across the country. As a partner in Rite Aid's KidCents giving program, this grant is in addition to the $5,000 EPIC received earlier this year.

"Together, we can continue to make a difference for underserved and disadvantaged populations, all while advancing racial equity and serving as a catalyst for positive change,” DeCamara said.

"As we move into 2021, the needs of families continue to shift," Burgess added. "Our partnership with Rite Aid allows us to continue adapting and supporting families, just as we have for the past 40 years."
