Catholic Health debuts WNY's first mobile simulation unit

Fully equipped emergency vehicle to provide field training to area first responders

Catholic Health’s new mobile simulation unit was shown off to the public on Monday, with brief remarks, a dedication and live demonstration at the Lewiston No. 1 Fire Department on North Sixth Street.

A press announcement said, “At a time when educating, supporting and empowering the health care community is crucial, Catholic Health is leading the way with the area’s first mobile simulation unit. The fully equipped medical emergency vehicle is an innovative and collaborative effort between the health system and regional emergency medical service (EMS) agencies.”

Catholic Health’s mobile simulation unit will travel throughout Western New York, providing hands-on field training and demonstrations for EMS personnel and fire companies, increasing their skillsets to improve the quality of emergency medical care across the region.
