Fri, Oct 30th 2020 07:00 am

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, but New York offers early voting before Election Day. The early voting period runs to Sunday, Nov. 1.

Voters who have voted in New York before don’t need to provide identification to vote. First-time voters who registered by mail, and didn’t provide a copy of your ID with your registration, you may need to show ID to vote. Acceptable forms include: a current and valid photo ID; or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address.

Voters without ID: If you are unable to provide ID, you will be able to vote an affidavit ballot.

Early voting began Oct. 24. All active registered voters in Erie County are eligible to cast an early voting ballot. Erie County’s election inspectors now use electronic poll books and ballot-on-demand systems to facilitate early voting.

Any ballots cast on election day must be cast at the voter’s district polling location designated by the Erie County Board of Elections as noted by the voter registration card mailed to the voter.
