Coronavirus stats for May 7

The Niagara County Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County, “We regretfully report the deaths of four Niagara County residents. We send our deepest sympathies to their family and friends.”

The deceased include:

  • A 61-year-old female with underlying health conditions
  • A 64-year-old female with underlying health conditions
  • A 95-year-old female with underlying health conditions
  • A 51-year-old male with underlying health conditions


The rest of the update is as follows:

  • 21 new positive cases, for a total of 640 positives to date (isolations + recoveries + deaths)
  • 287 active cases (266 isolating at home, 21 in a hospital)
  • 311 recovered
  • 42 deaths

Erie County

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Erie County had a total of 3,939 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 48 on Grand Island and 1,585 in the City of Buffalo. To date, 20,734 people have been tested, with 323 deaths attributed to the coronavirus.
