Ljiljanich addresses Niagara-Wheatfield families

Sun, Mar 15th 2020 10:55 pm

Niagara Wheatfield Central School District Superintendent Daniel G. Ljiljanich provided the following message Sunday night via the NW website:

Niagara Wheatfield Families,

Niagara County has issued a state of emergency and the Niagara County Health Department has recommended all schools (Pre-K through 12) close for students, effective Monday, March 16 and until further notice. Therefore, school will be closed for students beginning Monday, March 16, and until further notice. Districts will reassess student attendance weekly. There will be no extra-curricular activities, community events, or community education classes until further notice.

Staff will report on Monday, March 16 to their regularly assigned building, with the exception of bus drivers and bus attendants.

Also, in the coming days the District will be sending out information related to academic resources, and food service for those who receive free or reduced meals. Finally, all staff are asked to check their email later tonight for additional information pertinent to their respective jobs in the District.

The District will continue to use the Blackboard Connect system and our District website to share information with families.

Clearly, these are unprecedented times, but we will get through this by working together as a school community. I know you will do your part by taking care of family and friends, and by being good neighbors.

Thank you,

Mr. Ljiljanich

Superintendent
