BIANYS annual conference 2020 going virtual for first time

Conference to feature two keynote speakers

The Brain Injury Association of New York State (BIANYS) will host its annual conference online for 2020. This one-day event will feature many learning opportunities for brain injury survivors, caregivers and professionals. There will be keynote speakers, presentations and panel discussions.

Presented by Goldblatt & Associates, the 2020 annual conference will feel and look different, but BIANYS staff are doing everything possible to bring the fun along with the learning.

The annual conference will take place Friday, Oct. 16, starting with the first session at 9 a.m.

“We wish we could be in person to see the many smiling familiar faces we see when we’re together, but we are pleased with all of our presenters, sponsors and exhibitors that have helped make this virtual conference come to life,” said Eileen Reardon, BIANYS executive director. “We hope that we will once again have our conference in person in the future, but we are so excited for this virtual platform and we hope all of our attendees will enjoy it as well.”

BIANYS said there will be two keynote speakers this year. The first is Tom Stebbins, auctioneer, emcee and advocate, who will discuss how tragedy can be a blessing, and how some of his experiences with brain injury have led to greater happiness and fulfillment. The second speaker, Abby Maslin, will share the story of her husband's remarkable recovery from a severe traumatic brain injury following a violent assault.
