ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter hosts regional US Census representative

With the 2020 U.S. census drawing to a close at the end of the month, members of a local organization for public administrators would like to know what they can do to help. ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter invites the public to attend a free Zoom meeting tonight at 6 p.m. to learn about efforts in the region and pose questions to a local census representative. More details and an event registration link are available as aspabuffaloniagara.org.

Amy Brombos, partnership coordinator for the New York Regional Census Center, will provide a presentation about the U.S. Census' efforts to ensure as many people are counted as possible throughout Western New York. She will answer questions from the audience following her presentation. ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter – the local chapter for the American Society for Public Administration and host for tonight's event – advocates for community participation in the 2020 U.S. census and accurate counting prior to the Sept. 30 deadline.

Nationwide, the American Society for Public Administration has 61 local chapters and nearly 10,000 members. The organization strives to advance the art, science, teaching and practice of public and nonprofit administration. Locally, ASPA Buffalo Niagara Chapter revived in 2018 and now comprises 30 members and growing. The organization regularly cosponsors the annual Public Service Recognition Week conference in April at SUNY Buffalo State. More information is available at https://www.aspabuffaloniagara.org and the chapter’s social media sites on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
