Cask + Cow to close this weekend for cleaning

Cask + Cow, the Village of Lewiston’s gourmet burger spot at 840 Center St., will be closed this weekend out of an abundance of caution related to the coronavirus.

The restaurant’s Facebook page offered the following message:

“Unfortunately and despite following all guidelines, we have had 2 asymptomatic employees test positive for COVID.

“The health department policy on this is as such:

“•any employee that worked with the infected person can continue to work as long as they show no symptoms and their mask is worn at all times

“•no public announcement is needed.

“•we are not required to close.

“We do not feel comfortable with any of that. We do not want to put our customers or employees at even the smallest amount of risk.

“We are going to close for the entire weekend so that everyone has time to get tested. We have hired a company to sanitize the entire building and kill any virus that may be lingering.

While this is a difficult decision to make we feel it is the right thing to do. Stay Safe everyone and we hope to see you soon.”
