56% of fans who want to sell naming rights want it to be named after sports empire

A new poll of Buffalo Bills fans released Wednesday shows the #BillsMafia supports selling the naming rights of the Buffalo Bills Stadium to Barstool Sports. This revelation comes on the heels of Barstool Sports and Dave Portnoy announcing their intent to purchase the naming rights last week.

"@StoolPresidente may be a New England Patriots fan, but this poll shows that #BillsMafia wants nothing more than to jump through folding tables at Barstool Stadium," said Chris Grant, former season ticketholder, lifelong Bills fan and CEO of Big Dog Strategies.

The survey showed nearly half of Buffalo Bills fans want to sell the naming rights to the stadium, and of those in support of selling the naming rights, 56% want to sell them to Barstool Sports.

In addition, fans age 18-34 (+19 points), ages 35-44 (+38 points) and men (+27 points) overwhelmingly support selling the naming rights to Barstool Sports.

Interestingly, despite years of Barstool Sports' nonstop shilling for the despised New England Patriots, #Billsmafia has a favorable impression of Barstool Sports, by a 3-1 margin.

"Barstool knows Buffalo has top-flight pizza – now it's time for them to realize just how incredible the Buffalo Bills fan base is. It's time to make this happen," Grant said.

The poll of Buffalo Bills fans in the Buffalo designated market area (DMA) was commissioned Aug. 24-25 by Big Dog Strategies, a national political and corporate affairs consulting firm based in Buffalo. The poll had a sample size of 715 interviews conducted via automated landline and via text messaging and has a margin of error of +/-3.4%.
