DC FanDome, the 24-hour global experience that took place Saturday via the virtual Hall of Heroes, was a fan experience that brought the universe of DC to life and featured the stars, filmmakers and creators behind the franchise’s biggest films, TV series, games and comics. Warner Bros. welcomed fans everywhere into the DC FanDome – a free virtual fan experience where no badge was required.
Among the highlights:
•The second trailer for the theatrical release of “Wonder Woman 1984.” The film, starring Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman) and Kristen Wiig (Barbara Minerva/Cheetah), and directed by Patty Jenkins, is expected to hit multiplexes on Oct. 2.
•A behind-the-scenes video and a character reveal video for James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad.” Returning stars Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) will be joined by Idris Elba (Bloodsport), John Cena (Peacemaker), Pete Davidson (Blackguard) and Nathan Fillion (T.D.K.), among others. A premiere date is set for Aug. 6, 2021.
•Dwayne Johnson announced details on “Black Adam,” and a logo was revealed. In addition to “The Rock” taking on the title role, characters will include Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Cyclone and Atom Smasher. The movie is penned in for Dec. 22, 2021.
•A teaser trailer was unleashed for “The Batman.” Matt Reeves directed the film, which stars Robert Pattinson (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Zoë Kravitz (Selina Kyle/Catwoman), Paul Dano (Edward Nashton/The Riddler) and Colin Farrell (Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin). It is slated to hit theaters Oct. 1, 2021.
•"The Flash" star Ezra Miller provided details on his character's new suit, which comes courtesy of Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). The film is pegged for June 3, 2022.
•Zack Snyder released a tease for the director’s cut of “Justice League,” which is coming to HBO Max in 2021.
