Buffalo Sabres to auction game-worn 50th season jerseys

The Buffalo Sabres on Monday announced the team is holding a game-worn jersey and equipment auction. The auction will be held at auctions.NHL.com until 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.

The jerseys available for bidding include set two of the game-worn 50th season jerseys from the 2019-20 season. Game-worn gloves and helmets from the 50th season jersey sets also are available. All jerseys and equipment will come with a certificate of authenticity.

In addition to the jersey auction, the team will be auctioning off the gold blazers Sabres broadcasters wore during broadcasts throughout the team’s 50th season. The blazers will be signed and personalized to the winning bidder. Proceeds from each blazer auction will go to a charity of the broadcaster’s choice: Buffalo City Mission (Martin Biron), Buffalo Police Athletic League (Rob Ray), Camp Good Days and Special Times (Brian Duff), Child & Family Services (Rick Jeanneret) and the SPCA of Erie County (Dan Dunleavy)

The Buffalo Sabres Foundation mission statement reads: To identify and support local organizations which share our core objectives: serving children and military personnel, caring for the sick, assisting physically and mentally challenged athletes, and supporting youth hockey initiatives. By utilizing financial resources and community influence, the Buffalo Sabres Foundation assists these organizations and their beneficiaries in realizing their highest potential and succeeding in their endeavors.
