Live performances by Handsome Jack, Workingman’s Dead

The Kenan Center is utilizing its 25-acre campus to bring socially distanced concerts to the heart of the Lockport community. The drive-in-style series will start off with two concerts: Handsome Jack on Aug. 29 and Workingman’s Dead on Sept. 26.

“The community has told us that they want concerts and we are ready to deliver,” said Parrish Gibbons Herzog, spokeswoman for the Kenan Center. “We’re teaming up with two of WNY’s favorite bands to launch this series, and we will continue to monitor state regulations as we book future concerts.”

The drive-in-style concert series is open to people of all ages with tickets being sold per vehicle (six-person max). Tickets range from VIP front row ($120) to back row ($80). All online ticket sales must be made in advance of the show.

Handsome Jack, a southern rock blues band, is returning to the Kenan Center Campus for the first time since their sold-out show at the Taylor Theater this past October.

“As musicians, the desire to play live, in front of an audience is something that’s in our DNA,” said Joey Verdonselli of Handsome Jack. “We are excited to have partnered with the Kenan Center to bring our fans a fun and safe way to attend a Handsome Jack concert, live and in person.”

All online ticket sales, social distancing guidelines and information can be found at www.kenancenter.org.

The Kenan Center, one of the premier facilities in the Buffalo Niagara region for arts, education and recreation programming, was established in 1967. The Campus is home to the Kenan House, the Kenan Arena, the Education Building (which houses the Montessori preschool), and the Taylor Theater.
