The Giving Project has launched a fundraising campaign called, “Good Neighbors Against COVID-19,” which will benefit the Child Care Resource Network. CCRN is an essential resource for the Western New York community during the pandemic as it is connecting essential workers such as doctors, nurses and grocery store workers with child care services. The organization teamed up with Thurman and Patti Thomas to put together a special raffle prize: Dinner with them at Mullberry Italian Ristorante.

Including dinner with Thurman and Patti Thomas, The Giving Project has collected a number of unique prizes up for grabs, including a signed cleat from the Buffalo Bills; a Buffalo Sabres hockey stick signed by Rasmus Dahlin; a trip to see a filming of and episode of the CBS sitcom “Mom,” which was donated by Nicholas Bakay; beautiful pieces of artwork by local artists Jane Foley Ferraro and Jen Dowdell; a $100 Amazon gift card sponsored by E.B. Howard Consulting; and three-pack of shirts from 26 Shirts. Each donated prize will be featured on the “Good Neighbors Against COVID-19” campaign page and on its own page, which includes a prize description and highlights the business or individual making the donation.

“This is a fun way for the community to give back to a worthy cause that is having a direct impact on Western New York during this time – it’s like a virtual basket raffle,” said Joseph Castle, founder of The Giving Project. “The Child Care Resource Network is delivering an essential need to our community during this time, so we wanted to increase awareness about their services, their needs, and their hard work during this time.”

The Child Care Resource Network is an overall advocate for the children of Erie County and Western New York. Its mission is to promote quality, affordable, accessible care and learning for all children by supporting and empowering families, caregivers, education professionals, and employers.

The fundraiser will be held through May 15. Those who visit the page can enter to win a $20 Wegmans gift card through free entry.
