The Niagara County Health Department on Wednesday released the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County:

  • 9 new positive cases
  • Total of 65 to date
  • 54 positive individuals in isolation
  • 39 isolating at home
  • 15 in hospitals isolation
  • 11 people have recovered
  • 84 people in quarantine
  • 92 completed quarantine

Keep up-to-date with the county "heat map."

“Not surprisingly, our cases continue to grow in our most densely populated areas, of course, but the uptick will continue across the country,” Niagara County Legislature Chairwoman Becky Wydysh said on LCTV Wednesday. “As we have repeatedly said, act as it it's everywhere. We know that it is.

“I will reiterate, of course, that we believe that these numbers would be much higher if we were doing the testing that we would like to be doing in the area. That lack of testing, of course, is keeping our numbers low.”

She also said, “We currently have 84 people in quarantine, and 92 that have completed their quarantine, so, again, these are good numbers that we're hearing.”
