Niagara Falls City School District message to community

Mon, Mar 16th 2020 12:25 pm

Niagara Falls City School District Supervisor Mark R. Laurrie on Sunday posted the following on the school website:

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The first priority of the Niagara Falls City School District is the health and safety of our students and our families. As part of our continued response to the Covid-19 virus outbreak, schools will be closed for an indefinite period beginning tomorrow Monday, March 16, 2020.

In the coming days, you will be provided information regarding the availability of meals for students and provisions for their continued learning. This is a very fluid situation. Know that we will continue to respond to the needs of our students, parents and the community. Information including links to YouTube video updates will be available at our District website www.nfschools.net

This is a time for calm, steady leadership and thoughtful action. It is a time for each of us to take care of our families and ourselves. Part of that care includes the application of some common sense measures that include the frequent washing of hands, maintaining appropriate social distance and communicating with health care providers if necessary. Know that we will continue to provide regular updates and are looking forward to resuming regular school operations as soon as possible. Look for additional information to be provided soon and be well.
