The “National Geographic Live” speaker series returns to Kleinhans Music Hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, with “Nature Roars Back.” featuring Bob Poole as speaker.

Emmy Award-winner Poole’s extensive credits include well over 100 films and more than 35 projects for National Geographic. Working on the other side of the camera, he has fronted shows for Nat Geo, PBS and BBC.

A childhood in Kenya, where his dad was director of the Peace Corps, gave Poole a fierce curiosity about the natural world, as well as an adventurous spirit. H will discuss his PBS/Nat Geo International series, in which he draws on that experience to document the rebirth of a lost Eden: Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park, a jewel of Africa’s parks until civil war almost destroyed it. There, he joined forces with rangers and scientists (including his sister, renowned elephant researcher Joyce Poole), on perhaps the biggest conservation project on the planet – and learned the wild places people have broken can be put back together.

Tickets to the “National Geographic Live” speaker series at Kleinhans Music Hall are $35 for general admission; $15 for students; or $75 for a VIP experience that includes reserved seating and an invitation to a pre-event reception with the speaker.

The series continues April 20 with “Pink Boots and A Machete” with Mireya Mayor. A two-event package is available for $140 VIP or $60 general admission.
