Christmas is coming soon, and most people enjoy a Christmas party with friends or spending time with family. Also, there are many films that come to mind every Christmas holiday.

If you're planning a warm home party rather than a cold outside for Christmas, watching movies can be a good plan for Christmas. You can spend Christmas with family and friends in the living room, eat delicious food, and watch Christmas movies.

“ ‘Home Alone’ is my Christmas movie. I watched this series of movies several times since I was young. I still watch the movie if I spend Christmas at home,” said Han, a university student.

“Home Alone” (1990) is one of the most famous Christmas movies, but there are many kinds of movies about the Christmas holiday. Here are some other movies suggested for this Christmas.

First, the biggest thing that cannot be missed at Christmastime is the romantic comedy. There are many romantic movies for Christmas. If you need some romantic feelings, try “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (2001) and “Love Actually” (2003). Both have a lot of romantic moments and also they are famous for starring lots of popular stars.

“Bridget Jones’s Diary” is performed by Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. The latter two also starred in “Love Actually.” There are more stars in that movie, including Alan Rickman, Thomas Sangster, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson and Keira Knightley. The films look similar, but have little different aspects of love.

“Bridget Jones’s Diary” is the first film of its series. There are two sequel movies: “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” (2004) and “Bridget Jones' Baby” (2016.) The original is a story about Bridget Jones, who is a 32-year-old single woman. She makes her own way for her job and love. It gained lots of sympathy, because it shows the reality of common women. It also shows the fantasy of love.

“Love Actually” is a collection of love stories. It has not only romantic love, but you can also see other kinds of love, and it shows the other aspect of love. For example, there is a story of Daniel, a man who just lost his wife, and his son, Sam. It shows another aspect of love. The movie also talks about how the truth and destiny are harmonized through the love triangle between Peter, who is just married, his bride, Juliet, and Peter's best friend, Mark. There is romantic but inappropriate love, which is an affair between Harry and his secretary, Mia. It shows what happens when the family relationship, especially husband and wife, is unstable.

Also, there are animation films about Christmas and Santa. These movies have both humor and tough moments. They are good movies to watch with family, especially with children. Of course, children love these movies, but also adults love these movies, too. People can feel touched and remember their childhood.

“The Polar Express” (2004) is a story of adventure at the night before Christmas. A boy who has a suspicion about Santa’s existence gets a ride a Polar Express train on the eve of Christmas. The movie is famous for spectacular scenes and impressive facial expressions. Tom Hanks and Leslie Zemeckis acted as their voices. The fun thing about the movie is Hanks acted many characters in the movies: Hero Boy's father, Conductor, Hobo, Scrooge puppet, Santa Claus, and the Narrator. Also, he took part in Hero Boy’s motion capture.

The other movie is an “Arthur Christmas” (2011). This movie is the story about Santa’s family and how they deliver all presents to kids. A child accidentally fails to get a gift, and the youngest member of the Santa family, Arthur, finds out it and tries to deliver the present. It has an interesting story. This movie answers the question of how Santa can deliver 2 billion gifts to children around the world in one night.

“It is one of my best movies. It makes me feel like I become a kid who is looking forward to Christmas gift again, and it helps kids keep have their fantasy of Christmas,” said Karina, who is a university student.

The last part is the new movies you can watch at the cinema this winter. They are already released or will be soon. If you want to find something new, there are two movies: “Frozen 2” and “Last Christmas.”

“Frozen 2” is the sequel movie of “Frozen” (2013). It is an animated musical film. “Frozen” is famous for its songs, like “Let it Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” It is still popular among kids.

“My kids are huge fans of ‘Frozen.’ Every girl has Elsa and Anna costumes and they want to be a princess like the movie characters. They sing its theme songs every day and they like to wear Elsa and Anna costumes. They are really looking forward to watching ‘Frozen 2’ now,” said Cha, who is the mother of two children.

“Frozen 2” is a story about Elsa and Anna’s adventure to find out the truth of the past and save the kingdom of Arendelle. Also, it has more attention that the film has a post-credit scene about Olaf. It was released Nov. 22 in the U.S.

“Last Christmas” is a romantic comedy. Kate, who does not have anything, works at the Christmas decoration store. One day, she happens to meet Tom, who volunteers at the homeless center. She feels attracted to him. Its cast is Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding. The film released on Nov. 8 in the U.S.

You do not have to go out and hang around outside to enjoy Christmas and the holidays. Pick one movie with popcorn and a drink. These movies will make you feel Christmas, and help you enjoy the holidays in a warm and comfortable place.
