'An Evening With Horses & Heroes' to highlight Western New York EquiFest 2020

The athletic strength and talents of both the horse and their riders will be on display as WNY Equifest 2020 presents an “Evening with Horses & Heroes,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 21, inside Showplex on the Erie County Fairgrounds. This ticketed event will feature a costume-studded parade of riders and their beautiful horses demonstrating various forms of horsemanship and skills.

A press release stated, “During the show, spectators will see legendary heroes on horseback such as Wonder Woman and snow princess Elsa. A six-horse hitch, Roman riding and carriage races will have everyone at the edge of their seats. Following the performance there will be a meet-and-greet with photo opportunities. An ‘Evening with Horses and Heroes’ features Whispery Pines Percherons of Kingsville, Ohio. Owned by Sam and Kellie Rettinger, Whispery Pines is home to eight beautiful Percheron geldings. This will be the first time that these draft horses will be on display at WNY Equifest.”

General admission tickets for an “Evening with Horses & Heroes” are $20 per person and are available online at https://bit.ly/371PQFq or at the Fairgrounds main office during business hours. Children 10 and under are admitted free.

An “Evening With Horses & Heroes” is just one of the events scheduled for Western New York equine exposition and equestrian gathering. WNY EquiFest, March 21-22, will welcome horse enthusiasts, owners, trainers, clinicians, riders and vendors to celebrate the horse industry in New York. Over 6,000 people are expected to attend this free, two-day, family-friendly event.

WNY EquiFest 2020 will feature vendors with products and services focusing on the horse industry. Clinics, seminars and demos will be presented by trainers, coaches and industry professionals in three different demo areas. Breed Avenue and Breed Parade will feature Gypsy Vanners, Friesians and Standardbreds. Each breed will be showcased during the breed parade at noon both days. Fun, educational activities will be available for children of all ages in the family corral. Spectators will have the opportunity to sign up to drive a draft horse both days of Equifest.
